Light Asylum is a duo out of Brooklyn comprised of singer Shannon Funchess and synth-junkie Brother Bruno. These guys are hands down the most exciting, dynamic, amazing-sounding band I've seen live in a long time. Taking their cues from Joy Division and the coldwave movement, they hold nothing back on stage. And Shannon's voice is un. real. Supposedly she gave an unsolicited demo to TV on the Radio and was subsequently invited to sing on their newest album. Just like that! If you have a chance to see them live, do it.
