Bibio

Bibio is Stephen Wilkinson, a British producer and songwriter who makes a nice blend of electronic and folk music. His influences range from Boards of Canada to mid-century British Folk. Incorporate those influences along with his own found sounds and field recordings, and you get a unique sound altogether...and the perfect blend for summer.

Here are two track's off his most recent album, Ambivalence Avenue, including the title track.

in an ideal world, i would get off work a few hours early on a sunny, friday afternoon in late july...my friend would pick me up in a convertible and we would start driving out of town to a party at our mutual college friends' house who got married 2 years after college. if we timed it just right, we'd put lovers' carvings on about 3 minutes before we made the turn down the dirt road to their house, which sits on about 6 acres of land surrounded by tall sweet grass. as we pull in, dogs run up to the car and there are more people than i expected. to my delight, i realize its a surprise birthday party for an old friend and all of our pals have flown in from across the country. the song ends just as we hop out of the car and into a sea of hugs. delicious.
